SAT Score Release: March 2025 Test Results Are In

Students across the country are checking their College Board accounts: the SAT scores from the March 8, 2025 digital SAT test have been officially released. As of March 21, test takers have had access to their score reports, sparking excitement, relief, and—of course—a fresh wave of online score discussions.

That’s one of the perks of the digital SAT: faster results.

What’s in a Score?

Each student receives a Total Score between 400 and 1600, made up of two section scores:

  • Reading and Writing (200–800)
  • Math (200–800)

These scores come with percentiles, benchmark comparisons, and insights into strengths and areas for improvement. A helpful resource for interpreting your score is Skills Insight, which outlines the types of skills demonstrated in each score band from 370 to 800.

What’s the Average SAT Score?

While College Board has yet to publish the official average SAT score for the March 2025 administration, previous averages for the SAT have hovered around 1050–1080. Digital score distributions are expected to stay consistent due to rigorous scaling methods.

To help interpret your score, benchmarks are also provided. For example:

  • A score of 480 in Reading and Writing and 530 in Math indicates college readiness.

What Now?

Whether you hit your goal or are planning a retake, here are your next steps:

  • Review your score report carefully to identify question types and content areas to target.
  • Use Bluebook™ and Khan Academy’s free SAT prep to drill smarter for your next test date.
